Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Welcome to Sophie & Maple. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and purchases made through our online store.
Sophie & Maple is operated by StoreMRU, a business registered in the Netherlands.
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
1. About Us
Sophie & Maple is operated by:
StoreMRU
Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 95034560
Email: info@sophieandmaple.com
Sophie & Maple sells products online to customers in Canada.
2. Eligibility to Purchase
By placing an order with Sophie & Maple, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into a purchase agreement, or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide when placing an order is complete and accurate.
3. Products and Product Information
We aim to describe and display our products as accurately as reasonably possible.
Product descriptions, materials, measurements, sizing information, photographs and other product information are provided to help you make an informed purchasing decision.
However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings, device, lighting conditions and photography.
Minor differences in colour or appearance do not necessarily mean that a product is defective or incorrectly supplied.
This does not affect your rights if a product is materially different from what was advertised, defective, damaged or otherwise does not conform to the purchase agreement.
If we discover an obvious error in product information, sizing, availability or other information, we may correct that information.
If such an error affects an order that we cannot reasonably fulfil as agreed, we will contact you and, where necessary, cancel the affected item or order and issue the appropriate refund.
4. Prices
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on our website.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that prices are accurate.
If an obvious pricing or typographical error occurs, we reserve the right to correct the error.
If you have already placed an order affected by an obvious pricing error, we may contact you to explain the issue. Where necessary, we may cancel the affected order and provide a full refund of any amount already paid for the cancelled item or order.
We will not increase the agreed price of a validly completed order after purchase merely because we later decide to change our prices.
5. Orders
After placing an order, you may receive an order confirmation at the email address provided during checkout.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including:
- an item becoming unavailable;
- an obvious pricing or product-information error;
- inability to process or verify payment;
- reasonable suspicion of fraud or misuse; or
- circumstances that make fulfilment impossible or unlawful.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the appropriate amount for the cancelled item or order.
If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we may offer you an alternative. You are not required to accept an alternative product and may choose a refund for the affected item instead.
6. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available during checkout.
By submitting payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply to their services.
We do not guarantee that every payment method will be available at all times.
7. Shipping and Delivery
We deliver according to the shipping options and estimated delivery information displayed on our website at the time of purchase.
Estimated delivery times are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.
We aim to fulfil and deliver orders within the time communicated to you. Circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.
Detailed information regarding shipping, tracking, delivery times and applicable shipping conditions is provided in our Shipping Policy.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you may have if an order is not delivered within the agreed or legally required timeframe.
8. Returns, Refunds and Right of Withdrawal
Our returns and refunds are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
Sophie & Maple offers a 30-day return period, subject to the conditions explained in that policy and any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
Customers should contact us at info@sophieandmaple.com before physically sending a return so that we can provide the correct return instructions.
Contacting us for instructions does not remove or restrict any statutory right to notify us that you wish to withdraw from a purchase.
Where applicable, statutory withdrawal rights remain available independently of our voluntary return policy.
Please review our Return & Refund Policy before returning an item.
9. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products
If you receive a product that is damaged, defective or materially different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at info@sophieandmaple.com.
We may ask for your order number, photographs and other reasonable information needed to investigate the issue.
Depending on the circumstances and your applicable legal rights, an appropriate solution may include repair, replacement, refund or another suitable remedy.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits mandatory rights relating to defective or non-conforming products.
10. Promotions and Discount Codes
From time to time, Sophie & Maple may offer promotions, sales or discount codes.
Promotions may be subject to specific conditions, including validity periods, eligible products or minimum order requirements.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional offers cannot necessarily be combined.
We may modify or end promotions where reasonably necessary. However, we will not retroactively reduce a discount that was validly applied to an already completed and accepted order simply because the promotion later changes or ends.
We reserve the right to refuse the improper or fraudulent use of promotional offers.
11. Fraud and Misuse
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or cancel an order where we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, unauthorised payment activity, abuse of promotional offers or other unlawful or improper use of our store.
Where an order is cancelled, any refund due will be processed in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.
This provision will not be used to unfairly deny legitimate orders or consumer rights.
12. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Sophie & Maple name, branding, logo, original written content, original graphics and other content created specifically for Sophie & Maple may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially used without our prior permission.
Some photographs, graphics, product information, trademarks or other materials may belong to suppliers, service providers or other third parties.
We do not claim ownership of third-party content or intellectual property that does not belong to us.
13. Third-Party Services
Our website may rely on third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, shipping providers, analytics services, advertising platforms and other technology providers.
Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for independent third-party websites or services that are outside our reasonable control.
However, using a third-party service provider to operate our business does not remove any responsibility that we are legally required to have toward you as the seller.
14. Website Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website secure and available.
However, we cannot guarantee that the website will always operate without interruption, delay or technical error.
Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, internet failures, technical problems, third-party service disruptions or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by events outside our reasonable control.
This does not affect obligations or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.
We do not seek to exclude liability for obligations that we are legally required to fulfil.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses that are not reasonably connected to a breach of our obligations.
Any limitation in these Terms & Conditions applies only to the extent legally permitted.
16. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not automatically responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control.
These circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, major transportation disruptions, strikes, customs disruptions, governmental actions, widespread internet or infrastructure failures and similar events.
If such circumstances affect an order, we will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed and resolve the situation appropriately.
This provision does not remove any mandatory rights you may have to cancellation, delivery, replacement or refund under applicable law.
17. Privacy
Your use of our website and our processing of personal information are also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Please review the Privacy Policy to understand what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it may be shared and the rights available to you.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example because of changes to our business, website, services or applicable laws.
Updated Terms & Conditions become effective when published on our website, unless otherwise stated.
Changes will not be applied retroactively merely to reduce rights attached to an order that was already completed under earlier terms.
The version applicable to your purchase will generally be the version made available to you when you placed your order, subject to mandatory law.
19. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and agreements with Sophie & Maple are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, to the extent legally permitted.
This choice of law does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections that apply to them under applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions requires a consumer to waive a mandatory right regarding jurisdiction, dispute resolution or consumer protection.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will apply only to the extent legally permitted.
Where possible, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
